Lanell Dike is a human being enjoying the daily miracle of breath.

Right now she is living, learning and working as an artist, writer and fundraiser in Oakland, CA. Her work explores inner landscape - thoughts, emotions, memories, opinions and beliefs - and examines how the unseen ephemera of this internal realm shapes our understanding of self, each other and the physical world.

She uses a variety of mediums (collage, photography, mixed media, kinetic, installation, book arts) depending on the piece and her work is categorized more by meaning and message than by medium.

Lanell’s art is deeply influenced by themes of social justice and change. Each piece at its core asks, “What makes us who we are?” and “Why is the world the way it is?”  The exploration of these two fundamental questions creates pieces that are universally personal, challenging and original.
