In June 2009, the City of Oakland launched a comprehensive arts marketing campaign to promote Oakland as the Bay Area's multicultural arts destination. The campaign is a program of the Oakland Partnership, a public-private economic development initiative spearheaded by Mayor Ron Dellums.
Anchored by Oakland's first-ever central website, OaklandArts.org, the campaign will also feature a cooperative advertising program for arts organizations; viral marketing through blogs and social networking sites; editorial pitches to increase media coverage of Oakland and its arts community; marketing workshops and assistance and; enhanced promotion of Oakland arts organizations and artists through cultural festivals such as the City's flagship Art & Soul Oakland festival.
All of this more will be available online at OaklandArts.com. Together, we can make Oakland shine as a dynamic regional center for the arts.
